The Complete Backlinks Encyclopedia
subject-popularity is measured by the number and PR value of competing WebPages in the same category, keywords or subject of your own website. The more popular the subject of your website the bigger the number of competing WebPages you'll need to overcome. A popular key word can have ten of millions competing WebPages, a less competing key word can have ten of thousands or hundreds of thousands competing web pages. Backlinks and particularly optimized power backlinks (PBLs) are by far the most important influencing factors of all factors in deciding how well your website shows up on search engine results page . Backlinks acquisition in general, optimizing backlinks for added power and onsite optimization, comprises the only factors that can penetrate the top of the serp. The pictures demonstrate that Optimization + Backlinks must match the subject popularity in order to have top priority on search engines result page (serp). The rocket cargo is analogues to popularity. Heavier cargo (more popular the subject) requires more full in rocket engine (backlinks) and better efficiency of the rocket overall like construction of engine navigation system etc (Opitimization)
When the subject matter of the website is relatively small or limited to a specific area e.g "Santa Ana Tires", It takes relatively small number of power backlinks to position the website on top of serp. You can approximately measure the subject popularity by counting the number of competing web pages. that number always shows on the top right hand corner of the serp
We successfully posted http://sanatanatiressale.com on first page of Google for several key words including . the key word "Irvine tires sale" which has 997,000 competing WebPages. It took less than 48 hours. It is easier/ faster to place a local site than a national site
When the subject matter of the website is wide e.g "lending" with millions of competing WebPages it takes larger number of backlinks with high PR to position the website on top of serp. For example we successfully posted on 1st page of Google http://www.lendinguniverse.com ahead of 31,700,000 similar competing web pages. for the general term "real estate investor" .
It takes more time and a lot more work to achieve top 3 position on Google for a general popular term.
Power backlinks PBLs are used with great success to penetrate the top page of highly demanded key words.

What are backlinks?
Backlinks, also known as inbound links, are the backbone of Search Engine Positioning. Backlinks are links on other websites that lead back to your website. The more established, high quality, and high Page Rank the website that contains the link has, the more power it has to help the linked website with its search engine position. If the website that is getting backlinks gets many high quality relevant links from high PageRank websites, the better the chance it has of being in a high position on the search engines results.
How to get your website to show up on 1st page in first 3 position ?
Backlinks are the key to your website positioning they are by far the most important ingredient in getting your website to rank high on search engines.
In order for a website to be on the top of search engines like Google the website must have:
A: Fairly large number of backlinks
B. Links from high ranking websites
C. Links from websites with similar subject (relevant links)
D. Quality location of the backlink on the source website
E. Correct format of the backlinks on the source website
F. Alignment of several backlinks to create more powerful results
Not all back links are born Equal
A relevant link from a very reputable webpage (high PR) back to your own site is worth sometimes thousands of time more than a link from a low PR page. There are other considerations such as the similarity of subject matter, location on the source website and the manner by which it links that determine the value of each link.
How many backlinks are needed in order to reach top position on SERP?
The answer is not simple and in fact can never be totally accurate because:
A. Every link is different than another link
B. There are other factors that determine position such onsite optimization and content.
C. Competing websites will try to upset any effort you are doing to reach the top
D. Search engine can change their algorithm
E. The internet is a dynamic medium with constant changes.
To illustrates point "A" lets look at your website as a rocket trying to reach a spot in the space .
Consider that all the rockets in this picture have equal power and will reach the same altitude.
In a normal environment It takes hundreds of links from PR3-PR7 to "lift the website into orbit" but only few links from PR8 or PR9 reach the exact spot. (And It may take thousands of links from website with PR0-PR2 to achieve similar results)
When one is using PBL system the efficiency of each links is multiplied and power up all other links. BPLs link of PR2 PR3 and PR4 can get similar results as regular backlink with PR5 or PR6 or PR7 respectively*.
The natural power of any normal PR8 and PR9 links is very great and it is equal to or better than hundreds of links from lower PR sites.
A single PR9 PBL with 2 PR4 PBLwill deliver the same results as regular PR9 link and 200 PR6 regular links
PBLs (Power Backlinks) are a lot more intense and a lot more powerful than normal links. In this example you see that 20 PR6 PBLs produces the same results as 200 normal PR6 links
What is website Optimization?
According to Merriam -Webster dictionary: "Optimize- to make as perfect, effective, or functional as possible"
There are 2 types of optimizations:
1. Onsite optimization
2. Off site optimization ( optimization of backlinks)
Onsite Optimization- is the fine tuning of the website by the use of various tools such as meta tags, keyword density and many others. For the purpose of demonstration look at the picture of the rocket and imagine that the optimization is fine tuning the control center of the rocket and all its navigational system in order to maximizing it efficiency and arrive at it destination. Correct onsite optimization ensures efficient and smooth ride to target.
Offsite or Backlinks Optimization- This is still little understood subject by many SEOs, and this is by far the most important function of the SEO. Getting backlinks without any optimization is possibly biggest waste of time and money. Many SEOs and site owners are guiltily for it.
What is the relationship between site optimization and back-links?
The optimization of the website is extremely important and it goes hand in hand with building up traffic to the website. The optimization is the tune-up of the website . Correct tune up will get the most benefits out the back links while poor optimization will waste it effectiveness
What is a website PR (PageRank) PR is abbreviation of PageRank It is a link analysis algorithm used by the Google Internet search engine that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance among websites.
Google describes PR: PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important".
A PageRank results from a "ballot" among all the other pages on the World Wide Web about how important a page is. A hyperlink to a page counts as a vote of support. The PageRank of a page depends on the number and PageRank metric of all pages that link to it ("incoming links"). A page that is linked to by many pages with high PageRank receives a high rank itself. If there are no links to a web page there is no support for that page.
Google assigns a numeric weighting from 0-10 for each webpage on the Internet; this PageRank denotes a site’s importance in the eyes of Google. The PageRank (PR) is derived from a theoretical probability value on a logarithmic scale like the Richter Scale. The PageRank of a particular page is roughly based upon the quantity of inbound links as well as the PageRank of the pages providing the links. It is known that other factors, e.g. relevance of search words on the page and actual visits to the page reported by the Google toolbar also influence the PageRank. The name "PageRank" is a trademark of Google the exact formula that determine the PR is kept confidential by Google.
What is natural search engine optimization (SEO)?
Organic search or Natural, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a series of techniques used to drive a site to the top of the natural listings on a search engine. Efforts are focused on both on-page factors and link building. A good SEO should take into consideration all 7 website's factors however most of the seo work is concentrated on the last 2 backlinks and optimization
An often neglected aspect of SEO is the selection of effective, high-impact keywords. If you optimize on the wrong keywords, the ROI will be non-existent.
Lastly, SEO must ensure that a site is indexed by the search engines. If a search engine does not know about a particular page, it certainly can't return that page for a query.
A rocket with 2 PR8 Normal backlinks | = | A PR9 PBL rocket with 2 PR4 PBLs | = | A PR9 rocket with 200 PR6 Normal backlinks | = | A PR9 rocket with 20 PR6 Power backlinks (PBL)s |
*The pictures and examples above are only for demonstration of concept. It assumes that the links arrive from similar relevant websites and similar other factors. The exact number of backlinks will be different from case to case. |

Backlinks are incoming links to your website. It’s simple really…you vote for a candidate that you fully support or find most interesting. Similarly, you link to websites (or anything for that matter) that you think gives great value. As an SEO specialist, backlinks are one of the things you strive for in order to outrank your competitors.
(Nofollow links don’t give out “link juice” or “link love” which is used by Google for their PageRank system.)
